Giving Back and Strengthening Our Communities
Over the past few months we’ve been asked to drastically change our lives. In a way, this has given us back a lot of time. How are you planning to use that time? Are you doing your part to make sure we come out of this a stronger community? Working together, we can learn, redefine, and move towards a positive future rather than simply going back to how it used to be. One way to do this is to give back with The Global Initiative to Volunteer Expertise (GIVE).
GIVE is an agile, focused, social impact program that provides pro bono consulting services to non-profit organizations, leveraging proven methods to help organizations solve key strategic problems. Our teams are composed of individuals with diverse skills that are matched to the needs of the client. Our consultants have a proven track record of professional success and exhibit passion for social impact work. We have worked with a wide range of clients and continue to expand our reach and our sense of community each year. Here are some of the successes our teams have had over the last year:
Healthy Schools Campaign: The GIVE team supported Healthy Schools Campaign and Chicago Public Schools to survey and facilitate group discussions with school admins, principals and teachers to evaluate each group’s opinion of the role physical education plays in the school system. The team delivered their final presentation during the first week of June with their findings.

The Renaissance Collaborative: The GIVE team assisted The Renaissance Collaborative to expand their workforce programs and grow their network and brand within South Chicago. The team successfully presented a road map in early June to grow The Renaissance Collaborative’s community outreach and workforce programs which encompassed our current digital / remote environment.

With Love: The GIVE team is collaborating with a Portland, OR based non-profit, With Love, to create a replication strategy for their current seminars. These seminars provide information and resources for new foster families. The GIVE team is currently presenting a new seminar marketing strategy to the With Love team.

Alice Ferguson Foundation: The GIVE team is working with Alice Ferguson Foundation, a DC based non-profit that promotes environmental sustainability of the Potomac River watershed. The team is reviewing current external fundraising and communication engagement strategies to grow their community and donor base. Currently, the GIVE team is wrapping up their second deliverable which includes a recommendation on expanding Alice Ferguson Foundation’s online learning platform for kids.

BEST Kids: A new project kicking off on July 20th where the GIVE team will review the current communication strategy for BEST Kids, a DC based organization focused on mentoring today’s youth. The GIVE team will be responsible for assessing and defining best practice for external and internal communication as well as identifying means to track involvement within the BEST Kids community.

Itineris Foundation: A new project starting on July 20th where the GIVE team will assist with financial management for the Itineris Foundation, a Baltimore based non-profit focused on providing daily care for adults with autism. The GIVE team will review the current and future state of Itineris’ funding, grants, and donor management strategy. The team will deliver a strategic financial management plan to ensure Itineris’ financials are sustainable for the long run.
