Charity Season

The holiday season is a great time to give back and spread a little cheer where we can. Some of us spend it with our family members and loved ones, exchanging gifts, playing games, or just bonding. One of my fondest memories as a child was receiving and opening gifts during the holidays. It was always a happy and special moment and I’m sure a lot of people share this same sentiment. With this thought, we realized that not every child is as privileged and decided to focus on giving that same joy and happiness that some of us experienced, to children that are in need for this year’s Holiday Charity Drive.

Comms D&TT kicked off our 2021 Holiday Charity Drive this month and partnered with a wonderful charity called Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, Texas. We researched a lot of local charities and this charity stood out to us because of the range of services they provide to children and their families. This charity provides support to children victimized by neglect or abuse and children in crisis who are currently receiving services at their center, living with their relatives, in a foster home, or in an in-patient Residential Treatment Center. They serve 2,309 children and provide a safe environment for these children to find safety, healing, and justice.

They offer trauma-focused therapy to children and their family members who are dealing with the aftermath of abuse, as well as assistance with tangible needs like food, clothing, housing, employment, finances, and other aspects of living.

The organization also runs an annual Holiday Project to provide gifts to these children in need, and ensure they have a bright and special holiday. We are excited to come together and support their holiday project this year and have committed to support at least 6 children, which is a $125 commitment per child.

We collected donations over a period of 2 weeks from the Comms D&TT team and have surpassed our goal so far! Thank you to everyone for your donations.
